Following completion of a two-year, $10 million face lift, Mooresville’s public golf course will reopen this month.
In addition to numerous upgrades and improvements, the Mooresville Golf Course has a new name as well, Mooresville Golf Club.
Half the money spent went toward course improvements, which include a thousand new sprinkler heads, a 10-acre practice area, 18-acre driving range, new greens, tees and bunkers. Five miles of new, 8-foot wide concrete golf cart paths also were added.
The remaining $5 million went to road work and the new clubhouse, which has formal dining and banquet facilities. The clubhouse will not be completed until Spring 2017.
The course reopening was delayed a year to allow more turf growth but was actually completed in October 2015.
An exact reopening date has not been announced as recent rain has delayed some of the final road work to be done.
Prices for the course will range from $30 to $47 depending on day of week and holidays. Senior prices will be $30 during the week and $35 to $40 on weekends and holidays.
Mooresville residents can pay for a membership allowing daily access. Prices are $1,500 for single members and $2,250 for a family membership. Senior member rates are $1,200 per year for singles and $1,800 per family memberships.
