The serene setting of Denver’s Ashley Cove is an upscale community of just 52 homes on the western shores of Lake Norman.
Ashley Cove is just 2 miles off Highway 16 via Webb Road. Downtown Denver, along Highway 16, has all your necessities and everyday amenities.
The neighborhood is a more desirable option for people wanting to live away from the activity, density typically found on the southeastern area of the lake but still be close enough to enjoy its amenities.
From Ashley Cove, the south end of Lake Norman and Huntersville/Birkdale area is about 15 miles (approx. 25 minutes). To the north from Ashley Cove, western Mooresville is approximately 17 miles via Highway 150 through Sherrills Ford and across the lake.
Uptown Charlotte and Charlotte Douglas airport are both about 28 miles from Ashley Cove. A commute into the city is roughly 45 minutes without traffic via 16/Brookshire Boulevard, which takes you to the beltway.
Crescent Communities established Ashley Cove in 1996. The neighborhood has just 3 streets with 29 off-water homes and 23 waterfront properties. All the interior or water view homes have deeded boat slips in the community dock. All waterfront properties have docks and water access on site.
The Little Creek public access area with ramps and a pier is adjacent to the neighborhood and convenient for owners wanting to trailer boats off the property or fish. Though the area can be busy during summer months, the public ramp is separated from Ashley Cove property by a heavily wooded buffer zone.
Other than boat slips, there are no neighborhood amenities such as pool, playground or tennis courts. However, Ashley Cove is less than 5 miles from Westport Golf Club/The Club at Westport for golf, fitness, tennis and swimming! Sally’s YMCA is also close by.
Within Ashley Cove, home prices, sizes and styles are varied. Waterfront homes are the most expensive, with one selling for more than $900,000 in the last year.
Home sales during the last 12 months ranged from $355,000 for a 2,100-square-foot, interior home to $930,000 for a 6,200-square-foot waterfront home.
Only 5 homes sold in the last year at an average price of $605,500 and $165 per square foot.
Two homes are currently listed in Ashley Cove. One is waterfront and the other water view. Neither is under contract as of May 27.
