One of Huntersville’s most desirable neighborhoods is located less than 3 miles from the the shores of Lake Norman and is within walking distance of Birkdale Village!

The Scottish-themed neighborhood of MacAulay has a great central location near the best shopping, dining and waterfront areas in Huntersville and yet has lots of green space and woodland area for residents to enjoy closer to home.

MacAulay is located off Stumptown Road near Sam Furr Road next to Birkdale and the Birkdale Golf Club. There are 2 great golf courses, movie theaters, sports parks and more than 100 shops and restaurants within 5 minutes of the neighborhood.

Other nearby destinations include Discovery Place Kids, the Huntersville Family Fitness & Aquatics facility, Northlake Mall and Latta Plantation.

For lake lovers, the closest public boat ramp is Blythe Landing Park. There are also slip rentals at various marinas around Lake Norman. Jetton Park and Ramsey Creek Park are also only about 15 minutes away. Ramsey Creek has boat access as well as a public beach. (May 2016)

Closer to home within MacAulay, there are walking trails that connect the neighborhood to Birkdale Village, as well as a pool with a water slide, clubhouse, playground and tennis courts. MacAulay’s common areas have beautifully maintained gardens and well-manicured lawns.

Built in the early 2000s, MacAulay is one of the largest Huntersville neighborhoods and is a great family-friendly neighborhood with a home to suit most needs.

Homes in MacAulay can range from less than 2,000 square feet to more than 5,000 square feet. Lots sizes also vary widely from one-tenth of an acre to an acre.

Homes sold during the last year ranged in priced from $225,000 to $485,000. The average sales price for the 38 homes sold during the last 12 months was $346,297 and nearly $115 per square foot. Sales averaged nearly 98% of list price.

Currently, there are 17 homes for sale in MacAulay. Eleven of the homes are under contract as of May 25.

MacAulay is currently zoned for CMS’s Grand Oak Elementary, which is located just across Stumptown Road within walking distance from some of the neighborhood; Bradley Middle School; and William Amos Hough High School.
